My husband and I both work in the television industry and cyan is a colour in the test pattern. It just fit, because that is how we met.

Re: Is Cyan my real name?

My name is also Cyan. In searching for info on the name I ran across your site. Thanks for all the great experience about the name. I actually visioned two robin eggs in a nest and was looking for a connection when cyan showed up as the Robin egg color. We think we'll keep that name if you don't mind having another Cyan running around. We haven't dreamed up a middle name yet but we will look to the stars maybe for an answer thanks to your dad. Enjoy life.

Re: Is Cyan my real name?

thats a beautiful name. its avery unique, individual. makes you stand out.. and i love your blogs..wonderful short stories. you have a talent for writing. and holding on to the reader..

Re: Is Cyan my real name?

perhaps i should start using my real name at some point. ;) at least yours is a beautiful color and isn't just a misspelled version of a common name like mine.

Re: Is Cyan my real name?

Oh, that is so exciting! She is sooooo proud of her name tells people how to spell it and pronounce it and loves the fact not many people share her name. happy new year and glad you are proud of your name. I love it. I picked it out of the astrological book of baby names. x bye

Re: Is Cyan my real name?

Aww, well, I have you. ;-)

Re: Is Cyan my real name?

You DON'T have a sister named Magenta??!?! Wow, you had some LAME friends! I would love that name from day 1! My name's "Jon" and I've ALWAYS hated it. You say Jon on the street and get 30 people to turn around. It sucks. At least Cyan was always original. And I can't really fall back on my Spanish middle name, since I'm not exactly sure how it translates into English...

If deciding which story is true for your name origin... let me add one comment: Why in the heck would anyone name their kid after an almost lethal, traumatic experience like having an umbilical cord around the throat??? Sounds kind of scary and wrong... I think your Dad's story is better.

Anyway, glad the "birthing" thing worked out and you didn't get pwned by the umbilical! :-P Heh!
